A Place Where You Can Finally Breathe

Many women feel nervous around firearms. Some feel intimidated just walking into a range. Others believe they “should already know” something no one ever taught them.

This women’s beginner pistol class is the opposite of that experience.

Instead of pressure, you get patience.
We eliminate the noise and confusion, so you get clarity.
Instead of judgment, you get support.

You are not expected to know anything when you arrive. In fact, this class is specifically designed for true beginners.

Everything is explained clearly. Every step is guided. You move at a pace that allows you to stay comfortable, focused, and in control.

Because of this, most students begin to relax within minutes of starting.

What Makes This Class Different

Not all beginner pistol classes are the same. In some classes, students are rushed, overwhelmed, or left trying to keep up without fully understanding what they are doing.

This class is structured differently.

First, the pace is calm and controlled.
Next, each concept is explained in plain English.
Then, you practice step by step until it feels natural.

Because of this approach, students begin to feel comfortable almost immediately.

We intentionally keep our classes small (limited to 10 students). This allows for personal attention while still providing the support of a group environment.

Training takes place throughout Lake, Sumter, and Marion Counties, with most live-fire instruction conducted at the ARES Training Facility in Leesburg.

This is a structured training program designed for real-world performance, not just a one-time experience.

What You’ll Learn

This women’s handgun training course focuses on the essential skills needed to safely handle and shoot a firearm with confidence.

Each concept is taught in a clear, step-by-step way so it feels manageable from the very beginning.

Safe Firearm Handling

You will learn how to safely handle a firearm at all times, including proper safety procedures and range awareness. As a result, you will feel in control instead of uncertain.

Shooting Fundamentals

You will learn stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and follow-through. These fundamentals are built step by step until they become consistent and reliable.

Basic Self-Defense Law

You will learn when you can—and cannot—use a firearm to protect yourself. Everything is explained clearly, in plain English, without unnecessary legal confusion.

By the end of the class, you will have a strong foundation you can build on with future training.

What To Expect Step-By-Step

Knowing what to expect reduces stress and builds confidence. This class follows a clear, structured progression so you are never left wondering what comes next.

First, you receive a calm introduction to safety procedures and range guidelines.

Next, you learn how to handle the firearm properly, with close guidance and clear instruction.

Then, you begin with simple, controlled exercises designed to build comfort and familiarity.

From there, you progress at a pace that works for you into live-fire practice, applying what you have learned step by step.

Throughout the class, every stage is explained and guided. As a result, you stay focused, confident, and in control from beginning to end.

Why This Training
Matters More Than You Think

Many people believe that learning to shoot is simply about hitting a target. In reality, that is only a small part of the picture.

This training is about awareness, control, and confidence.

A firearm is a serious responsibility. Learning to handle one safely is not just a physical skill—it is a mindset that affects how you think and respond under pressure.

Because of this, the class is designed to help you stay calm, think clearly, and act safely in situations that matter.

For many women, this is the first time they begin to feel a real sense of control over their personal safety.

That shift is important.

Instead of feeling uncertain or dependent on others, you begin to understand what you are capable of. Step by step, that understanding builds into confidence.

And when confidence is built correctly, it stays with you long after the class ends.

The Truth About “Knowing How To Shoot”

Many people have some exposure to firearms. They may have gone shooting years ago or learned informally from a friend or family member. However, that type of experience often leaves important gaps.

Someone may know how to pull a trigger, but not understand proper grip pressure. Others may hit the target, but not know why their shots are inconsistent.

Without a clear understanding of the fundamentals, progress becomes limited. This is why starting with a proper foundation makes such a significant difference.

In this class, you are not just shown what to do. You are taught why each step matters and how to apply it correctly. As a result, everything begins to make sense.

When you understand the “why,” improvement happens faster, and confidence builds in a way that is consistent and reliable.

A Calm Introduction
To The Range Environment

For many women, the shooting range can feel overwhelming at first. There is noise, movement, and unfamiliar procedures happening all around you.

In this class, none of that is rushed. Instead, you are introduced to the range environment in a gradual, controlled way.

First, you learn where to stand and how to position yourself safely.

Next, you learn how to handle the firearm with confidence.

Then, you begin working through simple, guided exercises at a comfortable pace.

Because of this approach, what once felt intimidating quickly becomes manageable. And once it feels manageable, it becomes something you can handle with confidence.

Building Confidence Step By Step

Confidence does not come from being told you can do something. It comes from doing it successfully, one step at a time. That is how this class is structured.

First, you learn a simple skill.

Next, you practice it until it feels natural.

And then, you build on it.

Because each step is clear and manageable, you never feel overwhelmed. Instead, your confidence builds gradually through repetition and understanding.

By the end of the class, many students are surprised by how much progress they have made in a short period of time.

Training In A Supportive Environment

The environment you learn in has a direct impact on how quickly you improve.

In some classes, students feel rushed or self-conscious. They may hesitate to ask questions or worry about making mistakes.

That does not happen here. This class is designed to be calm, respectful, and supportive from start to finish. Everyone is learning. Everyone is progressing.

Because of this, students feel comfortable asking questions, taking their time, and focusing on doing things correctly. And when you feel comfortable, you learn faster and retain more of what you are taught.

From First Shot To Real Understanding

The first time you fire a gun, it can feel unfamiliar. However, with proper instruction, that feeling changes quickly. You begin to understand how the firearm works. And, you begin to recognize what a good shot feels like.

Consistent results on the target will become a regular occurance. As a result, what once felt uncertain becomes predictable. And when something becomes predictable, it becomes something you can control. That is the real goal of this training.

Common Concerns (And Honest Answers)

“I’m nervous about guns”

That is completely normal. Many students feel this way at first. Once you understand how firearms work and how to handle them safely, that nervousness begins to fade.

“I’ve never touched a gun”

Perfect. This class is designed specifically for true beginners with no prior experience.

“What if I can’t handle recoil?”

You start with low-recoil firearms and progress only when you feel ready. There is no pressure to move faster than your comfort level.

“What if I embarrass myself?”

You won’t. Everyone in the class is learning, and the environment is supportive and respectful from start to finish.

What You’ll Walk Away With

You will not leave as an expert—and that is not the goal.

Instead, you will leave with something far more important:

  • Confidence where uncertainty once existed
  • A clear understanding of safe firearm handling
  • A solid foundation in shooting fundamentals

Most importantly, you will leave knowing that you can do this.

At the end of the class, you will receive a signed Certificate of Training.

For many students, this becomes a meaningful milestone—a reminder that they took a real step toward understanding and control.

Who This Class Is For

This women’s beginner pistol class is ideal for those who want to learn in a calm, structured, and supportive environment.

  • Women with no prior shooting experience
  • Those who feel nervous or unsure around firearms
  • Anyone who prefers a patient, step-by-step approach
  • Women who want to learn alongside others in a similar situation
  • Those seeking a real-world understanding of personal safety

What This Means For Your Personal Safety

Learning to shoot is not just about hitting a target at the range.

It is about understanding how to protect yourself if you are ever placed in a situation you did not choose.

Most people never think about that reality in a structured way. However, the truth is simple: situations develop quickly, and they are often unexpected.

Because of this, preparation matters.

This class is not about turning you into something you are not. Instead, it gives you a foundation—one that allows you to think clearly, act safely, and begin developing real awareness.

For many women, this is the first step toward taking control of their personal safety in a meaningful way.

And once that process begins, it often changes how you see the world around you.

Why A Strong Foundation Matters

It is easy to develop bad habits when learning to shoot.

In many cases, people are shown what to do, but not how to do it correctly. As a result, those habits become difficult to fix later.

That is why this class focuses heavily on fundamentals.

Grip, stance, trigger control, and sight alignment may seem simple at first. However, they are the foundation for everything that follows.

When these fundamentals are learned correctly from the beginning, progress becomes faster and more consistent. Accuracy improves. Confidence improves. Control improves.

Because of this, students who start with a strong foundation continue to improve more efficiently as they move forward in their training.

You Learn At A Pace That Works For You

One of the most common concerns is whether you will be able to keep up. That concern is removed in this class.

There is no pressure to move faster than you are comfortable with, and no expectation that you should already understand anything.

Instead, the pace adjusts naturally based on your progress. If you need more time on a skill, you get it. If you are ready to move forward, you can.

Because of this, each student progresses in a way that feels natural and manageable. And when learning feels natural, it becomes much easier to retain and apply what you have learned.

The Value Of Learning With Other Women

There is a reason many students choose a women-only class.

The environment feels different. Instead of worrying about how you look or how you are performing, you can focus entirely on learning.

Everyone is there for the same reason. Everyone is starting from a similar place. Because of this, the class becomes more relaxed, more supportive, and more productive.

Students often feel more comfortable asking questions, taking their time, and working through each step without pressure. That combination leads to better understanding and more consistent progress.

From Uncertainty To Confidence

At the beginning of the class, many students are unsure of what to expect. Some feel hesitant. Others feel cautious. That is completely normal.

As the class progresses, that begins to change. You start to understand what you are doing. And you’ll become more comfortable handling the firearm. You begin to see steady improvement in your shooting.

As a result, uncertainty fades and is replaced with confidence. Not exaggerated confidence—but real confidence built on understanding and experience. That is what makes the difference.

Where This Training Can Take You

This class is only the beginning. For some students, it provides the confidence and understanding they were looking for. For others, it becomes the starting point for continued training.

After completing this class, many students choose to continue with:

  • Private one-on-one instruction for faster skill development
  • Concealed carry training for personal defense
  • Advanced courses focused on real-world application

If you decide to continue, you will do so with a strong foundation already in place. That makes every future step safer, easier, and more effective.
