Structured NRA Training With a Certified NRA Instructor

CCW Training Academy offers official NRA group classes for students who want recognized, structured firearms education taught by an NRA Certified Instructor.

Classes are formed when at least five students with compatible schedules are ready to attend. We serve students throughout Lake, Sumter, and Marion Counties, including The Villages, Leesburg, Lady Lake, Summerfield, and Ocala.

Three official NRA courses are currently available in group format:

  • NRA Basic Pistol Course — 4 hours.
  • NRA Basic Nationwide CCW Course — 8 hours.
  • NRA Basic Home Firearms Safety Course — 4 hours and no live fire.

Each group normally requires a minimum of 5 students and is generally limited to 10 students so that instruction remains manageable and students receive appropriate attention.

Two Ways to Join an NRA Group Class

Priority Registration is for students who are ready to take the course and want first consideration when a compatible group is formed.

Group Forming List allows you to tell us which NRA course you want and when you are normally available without making a payment.

Priority Registrants are contacted before students on the Group Forming List.

Priority Registration

Priority Registration is intended for students who know which NRA course they want and are ready to attend when enough students with compatible availability are identified.

Select your course below and open the secure shopping-cart page to see the current price. Opening the shopping cart does not charge you. Payment occurs only after you review the price and approve the transaction.

After registration, we compare the availability of interested students. When enough students can attend on the same date, we contact Priority Registrants first and propose a class date.

You are not required to accept a proposed date that does not work for your schedule.

Your Payment Is Protected Before the Date Is Confirmed

Until you accept a proposed class date, you may remain registered for a later class, apply your full payment toward another CCW Training Academy course, or request a full refund.

After you accept a confirmed class date, normal cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, and no-show policies apply.

Group Forming List: No Payment Required

If you prefer not to pay before a class date is proposed, join the NRA Group Forming List.

Tell us which course interests you and when you are normally available. We use that information to identify students who want the same course and have compatible schedules.

Joining the Group Forming List does not require payment, create an obligation to attend, or guarantee a seat.

Priority Registrants receive first consideration. If seats remain after Priority Registrants are accommodated, we may contact students on the Group Forming List.

Official NRA Courses and Advanced Training Serve Different Goals

Official NRA courses provide structured instruction based on established NRA curricula. They are particularly useful for students seeking formal introductory firearms education or an NRA course certificate.

Students whose primary goal is practical defensive-pistol development may also want to review CCW Training Academy’s Non-NRA courses. Those programs include beginner live-fire training, concealed-carry certification, tactical pistol instruction, scenario-based training, and ongoing defensive-pistol skill development.
